Baatin explains “Pregnant” verse [Video]

Spotted this one @ MichiganHipHop.com and freaked out. This is not only one of my favorite Slum Village songs, but one of my favorite songs of all time. So of course, here’s the audio: Slum Village “Pregnant” [mp3].

Do you realize that Slum Village, Anti-Pop Consortium, Camp Lo AND Souls of Mischief are all poised to drop albums this year? 2009 is gonna be big fun.

Bonus: Slum Village “Fantastic (Instrumental)” [mp3]

“Science Of Breath” [mp3].

New Lazers from ATL hip-hop veteran Ekundayo the Mountenliun. This is one of those deep concentration joints, open your mind + your ears and listen. Pay attention to Atlanta, people. As far as hip-hop, they’re not playing games and haven’t been for a long time.

Last nite: Root Down Dibiase Haircut Soundclash [Video]

Didn’t make it out last nite, but heard it was Lazers. Looks like it was.

Ya’ll know about the LinnDrum II?

Roger Linn, Designer of the LinnDrum and the MPC, and Dave Smith, proposer of the MIDI standard and designer of the Prophet 5, are working on a new drum machine: the LinnDrum II. Here are the designs they’ve gone thru so far.

Culture King Podcast #003: Vast Aire 2004 Interview
[divshare] [megaupload]

At one time I wrote for RIME Magazine, as you’ve seen from the articles I’ve uploaded thus far. In 2004, right before I stopped writing for RIME, I was given the chance to interview Vast Aire. Look Mom No Hands had just come out and it was a great time to interview Vast about where he’d been and what he looked forward to in his career. Lots of great info, including Vast’s musical beginnings, the making of The Cold Vein and the creative process of Look Mom.. Get comfortable, this is a good one. And this interview is a one of one, so remember where you got it. Enjoy.

The gullyest video on YouTube

I don’t know who jusflippin is, but that’s not the point.

Oran “The Juice” Jones.
Making a Peanut Butter and Jelly sammich.
Wearing a t-shirt with a picture of a huge grenade on it.
With DJ Clue style mixtape reverb/echo.
Promising to holla later on when he’s getting some chicken.

I’m satisfied. Bring on 2010.

Vast Aire “His Majesty’s Laughter” [mp3]

“That ain’t a dimple in your face, it’s a dent!” The classic!!! Fam, you already know about the Scissor Tongue bootleg. Wow, me and my crew used to pass this back and forth on Maxell tapes, and it was a walkman necessity! Classic rhyme activity. If this is your first time peeping, consider yourself fortunate.
